They’ve been formatted since they were very little. They are prepared to look after children, knowing that instinctively this is in their DNA. When they are the eldest in a family, in some cultures they are like mothers.

This is not a bad thing in itself, quite the contrary, if the parents make sure that they remember that they are children too, and that they have the opportunity to interact with other young people their own age. But in general, that’s not the case, they don’t really have a choice, they give a lot of themselves to their family, they became adults too early and too young.

Companies have over-prepared them to take care of others but not enough of themselves. They need to recognise the signs of exhaustion to avoid burnout. And regularly take time out for themselves, to do things they enjoy and find relaxing.

For some, this means socialising with others over a well-stocked table. Others prefer to isolate themselves, to be in their own bubble to refocus on themselves. Others go on holiday with their girlfriends because they need to get away from it all. It doesn’t matter how you do it, as long as it feels good. And these precious moments need to be repeated regularly throughout the year if they are to have any effect.
